There’s a lot to do on the internet. With Farmville, Facebook, and listening to At the Buzzer, there’s always something to do. However, one of my favorite things to do online is laugh at Internet memes. A meme is defined as an image, video, etc. that is passed electronically from one Internet user to another. Usually this means hilarious pictures, and they deliver more often than not. Internet memes generally follow some sort of template along with words to make the image humorous. An example would be this from the TV show The Office:

So, on that thought, I bring you my three favorite memes ever.

3. Philosoraptor: The depth of this dinosaur amazes me. Somehow he always comes up with something to make you think…wait what? Whether if it’s the paradox about Pinocchio lying about his nose, or wondering who governs the laws of physics, Philosoraptor will always make you think.

2. Socially Awkward Penguin: Maybe I identify with this guy a little too much. I’ve always found myself identifying with the things he says. Socially awkward penguin tends to fret about what women think and what their friends think and it’s always negative. While I might identify with the thoughts the penguin might have, I’m much more positive than him.

1. Paranoid Parakeet: Maybe I like this one so much because he reminds me of Shaun. Paranoid Parakeet can take any situation and turn it to the most evil thing in the world. Whether he’s worried about being robbed, losing his game’s save state, or being stalked by the government, no wild conspiracy theory is too much for him. Shaun somehow makes the craziest conspiracy theories about everything, and now I think I know where he got his inspiration.

Some of the best things to do with memes is make up your own. Take the theme of a socially awkward penguin or a bachelor frog and put your own words to it and maybe you’ll be the next internet sensation. What’s that? Have I ever made one? No way, I’m way too scared to use the Internet, the aliens will brain probe me, and that cute girl might be online and she’ll know I’ve been stalking her….
