We haven’t had bullets for a long time now. I think part of that is because there’s been plenty of stuff going on, both related and unrelated to the show. But we’re back, mostly thanks to a weird work schedule this week.
Also, I had another reason to post a picture of Stacy Keibler. That pretty much made this a no-brainer.
So without further ado, here’s an assortment of thoughts from the last week or so…
- It’s been almost two months now, but we’re finally moved in to the new place and enjoying it in pretty much every way. It’s got several advantages, like a bunch of extra room to fit four people and a full-size washer and dryer, which doesn’t seem important until you don’t have it for eight years. Honestly, the biggest improvement is that the windows are directly up against an outward-facing wall, which means Flagstaff’s nice summer breezes get through way more than the old place. I’m not sure I can say it was worth all the trouble — because it was a TON of trouble — but it’s been pretty solid.
- Each summer I’m reminded why I’m still in Flagstaff. Hell, I probably already posted about this last summer. But I hear horror stories about record heat and humidity in various parts of the country and can’t help but look outside and think “huh. 78 degrees with clouds and a breeze — works for me!” We had kind of a weird stretch where we had exactly zero precipitation in the span of more than two months, but that’s been corrected in the last few days with some nice showers. Yay rain.
- You know what game I’m excited about? Pokemon Black 2. You know what I’m not excited about? Halo 4. Maybe I’m just having a hard time growing up. Or maybe Halo is overrated. Hard to say.
- Dave has already covered the Suns’ offseason to some extent, but a few things have changed since then — namely, we swung and missed on Eric Gordon and managed to put in the highest bid for Luis Scola. Scola was a solid, cheap addition and immediately becomes the best power forward on the roster. Now, Phoenix might be looking at another season with a mediocre record and a low playoff seed, but I’ll take that over my team tanking to get the best draft pick (*cough*Charlotte*cough*). Besides, the Suns now have 10 draft picks in the next 3 years and a number of decent players on reasonable contracts that could be bundled together to trade for a superstar if one becomes available. It may not be perfect, but it’s a better summer than I thought the Suns would have.
- We recorded this week’s show last night despite a litany of potential problems. The internet connection up here has been spotty (as if I needed more reasons to dislike CenturyLink), a thunderstorm came through in the middle of the second segment, and I’m pretty sure Shaun almost died somehow. However, it ended up being a hell of a show, so tune in on Thursday. Stacy Keibler makes an appearance, and you already know how much I like her.
