Number Seven With a Bullet

All hail the bullets!

Just got through a long weekend where I worked a 12-hour shift, rushed down to Phoenix to be a groomsman for a wedding, shuttled all over the city to see a variety of people, then dragged my ass back to Flagstaff. My reward this morning is fun with allergies and a bullet post to collect some assorted thoughts.

My other reward is posting a picture of Stacy Keibler with this bullet post, because I think it should become a new tradition.

Anyway. Why am I all stuffed up? Because…

  • …I think I spent time with about 19 different animals this weekend, including the first time I’ve been around cats in a couple years. Dogs at the wedding, Nick’s dogs, Dave and Courtney’s dogs, Shaun’s dog, assorted cats…basically, my nose went “NOPE” and now this is happening. My allergies really aren’t all that bad, but apparently things get a lot worse when I’m not around animals for a while. I used to spend weekends at my dad’s place where he had a cat, and I eventually got to the point where I could pet him and then touch my eyes without them swelling shut for the next three years, but I guess those days have passed.
  • As for the wedding, it was a good weekend. There were only two minor glitches at the ceremony/reception, and no one died from wearing five layers of clothing in 88-degree November heat. More importantly, the bride and groom seemed very happy — and that’s really all that matters.
  • This weekend, the three of us managed to get together to watch a Suns game, which is to say that Dave, Shaun and I wasted our time. That second half against the Magic yesterday was some of the worst basketball I’ve ever seen. I thought I was being pessimistic when I picked Phoenix to finish 12th in the Western Conference, but now I’m starting to think I’m just psychic.
  • Some quick site news: 1) Unfortunately, despite some pretty solid support in the poll, the site’s darker-looking template will not become a full-time thing. I still think it looks sexy though. I just don’t want to make the site more difficult to read for some folks, even if it’ll look more awesome at first glance. 2) The next episode of Game On is posting tomorrow. We take on World 2 of New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii, and it’s an ice world, so what could go wrong? You know, besides everything.
  • Finally, a bit of a tease for the future of the podcast: I think some pretty big changes will be coming down the chute in the next two months. You know, around the start of 2013. I’m not going to say that it’s the most awesome thing ever, because Stacy Keibler is the most awesome thing ever. But it might still be pretty sexy. We’ll talk about this more as we get closer to the holiday season, but we’re going to do the same thing as last year and take the week between Christmas and New Year’s off. When we come back in 2013, there might be some new stuff for both the show and the site. Stay tuned…

  1. Can’t wait to see how you guys handled NSMBW Level 2! Ice/snow levels make me want to punch things and throw controllers. Also looking forward to seeing how the site and podcasts evolve — now I have a reason to survive the apocalypse!

      1. Not at all! I’m sorry I let loose with my awful memory. Considering I only recently made it through level 3 (ice and snow), you’d think I’d remember. I had a terrible time with that one, as well as levels 2 and 4 and 5 and……why am I even playing this game?

Sorry ’bout your allergies, hope you feel better soon.
