This past weekend in Flagstaff, there was the loudest thunder I’ve ever heard in my life.
That’s not an exaggeration. I’ve been through my share of monsoon storms in Phoenix, Flagstaff and Colorado, and there have been some doozies, including an example from last week at around 1 a.m. that woke Shaun up and made him think he was shot. This beat that handily.
Unfortunately, that lightning strike created a pretty hefty power surge, and that power surge fried our modem. Just destroyed the thing. It couldn’t receive a signal whatsoever. That meant I got to spend some more quality time with CenturyLink on the phone over the weekend (which is my favorite thing to do when I’m off work), but to their credit, they sent a replacement modem pretty quickly.
We’re finally back up and running, but the three-day hiatus is going to cost us a couple of Game On videos and this week’s podcast episode. Obviously there was no way to upload videos the past two days, and there’s just not enough time left to get a show in. So for the first time in more than a year, we’re going to miss an episode. I feel bad, but I also feel we’ve earned the latitude.
Regular service will resume tomorrow with a Mass Effect Game On episode and another post as well.

God was displeased with your religion episode and took revenge on your modem?
That is one theory. Then again, that’s awfully petty of Him. UH OH, DID IT AGAIN.
