Whether they were weapons or shields or utility items, these are the panel’s selections for the coolest or most useful inventory slots in the series. We’ll be counting down one by one until we reach the #1 pick on Jan. 31.
15) Bunny Hood – 4 votes, 140 points

This is a combination vote for me. The Bunny Hood is the majority of my love here, but I also like the Bremen Mask you use to get it in the first place. With the Bremen Mask, Link gets to march around and play a catchy little tune while looking like a bird — and all the baby Cuccos love that for some reason. Once you trick 10 of them into following you, Link is ready for mach speed.
Considering that Majora’s Mask focuses so strongly on the time element, the idea of an item that allows you to run more quickly seems like a no-brainer. It’s usually one of the first detours I make, because it’s so damn useful. It beats just about any other mode of transportation — Epona is clunkier and slower, Goron Link wins at top speed but can’t turn worth a damn, and so on. Plus, Link looks adorable while wearing them, so that has to count for something.

Shaun: For the majority of this list, I’m not ashamed to say I’ve made votes based largely on aesthetics, and not with performance. With the Bunny Hood, I’ve done the opposite. Nothing looks dumber than our courageous hero donning a set of bunny ears on his head. But I’ll look like an idiot if it means my speed is doubled and I can cruise around Hyrule like The Flash. All utility and no style is the name of the game, but I’ll take it when that utility means makes the entire game go faster.
Joseph: If we are talking about Ocarina of Time, it is practically useless. It only shines in Majora’s Mask, but it did not make enough of an impact over the Pegasus Boots. The games should have included something like the hood in subsequent Zelda games because Epona does not fit everywhere.
