Cure for the Box Office: Make Good Movies

August 2, 2013August 7, 2013 Shaun

Last week, I was reading a box office analysis that was addressing why The Lone Ranger failed to generate good returns, and was, for all intents and purposes, a box office flop. The report had all sorts of factors, such … Continue reading Cure for the Box Office: Make Good Movies

The Conjuring: Review from a Movie Novice

July 31, 2013August 4, 2013 David

Shaun wrote a few days ago how “The Conjuring” would decide whether he saw horror movies anymore. Well with the insistence of my wife and that motivation to see something Shaun hadn’t I went to see “The Conjuring” last weekend. … Continue reading The Conjuring: Review from a Movie Novice

July 29, 2013August 2, 2013 Chris

I spent a lot of time in the last week revamping our Youtube page, working on solutions for the live show, and losing games of Smash Up. So it wasn’t all bad. Plus, Dave and Molly managed to make it … Continue reading Number Thirteen With a Bullet

The Simpsons Crossover: Have they Jumped the Shark?

July 24, 2013July 29, 2013 David

The Simpsons are starting their 25th season this fall. Think about that for a moment. Most of you weren’t even born in 1988 when they started. Maggie would be out of college inventing a new pacifier or something if they … Continue reading The Simpsons Crossover: Have they Jumped the Shark?

Gray Areas

Gray Areas is a pop culture extravaganza with a live weekly podcast every Thursday night, daily Let's Play videos, and a bevy of old blog posts for your enjoyment.

The current crew includes Chris, Dave and Shaun, who have been there since the beginning, and Cody, who joined in 2021. We also have other contributors like Michaela who chip in from time to time.

We cover everything from video games, anime and movies to music, books and idiots in the news.

This whole thing was started as At the Buzzer in February 2011, the brainchild of three men desperate for attention. It became Objection Network in 2017 and then this in 2024. It’s slightly related to an old Flagstaff radio show from 2008, kinda like how Frasier was slightly related to Cheers. In other words, we're all getting old and it's a little depressing.
