Review from a Gaming Expert: The Walking Dead – The Game

March 15, 2013March 18, 2013 Shaun

The winner of an absurd amount of awards and the source of some of the best writing and characterization found in gaming, there’s really nothing more I can say in my review on The Walking Dead: Season One that you … Continue reading Review from a Gaming Expert: The Walking Dead – The Game

iPhone 5 vs Galaxy S3

March 13, 2013March 18, 2013 David

So I recently had a tough decision to make. It had been a couple of years since I had made a change, and a new companion was needed.  The old companion, small and black, had been through quite a few adventures, … Continue reading iPhone 5 vs Galaxy S3

March 13, 2013March 13, 2013 Shaun

Two of the lost gems of the Zelda series, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, are being re-released on the Nintendo 3DS. So it’s not enough that we get great, high caliber games like Super … Continue reading Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Seasons to 3DS

Stephen Amell from “Arrow” as Green Arrow in Justice League film

March 12, 2013 Shaun

With talks to get Christian Bale in as Batman, it’s clear DC is doing the smart thing and trying to follow the Avengers movie formula. This is the best move for them as a studio, and for the fans. Well, … Continue reading Stephen Amell from “Arrow” as Green Arrow in Justice League film

Phoenix Suns: To Tank Or Not To Tank

March 12, 2013March 22, 2013 Shaun

Like most everyone else, it was my belief that the Phoenix Suns should see this season for what it is – lost – and tank for the lottery and a high draft pick this year. And like most everyone else, … Continue reading Phoenix Suns: To Tank Or Not To Tank

Music to My Ears: Blue Dragon

March 11, 2013March 15, 2013 Chris

Blue Dragon was a victim of its own expectations. When the game was released in the States in 2007, word had already spread about some of the members of the development team who had worked on this project. Many gaming … Continue reading Music to My Ears: Blue Dragon

March 10, 2013March 13, 2013 Jason

Hey everyone! Earlier this week Shaun released his review on the recent Tomb Raider game released this past Tuesday. Now, while Shaun is our resident “Gaming Expert“, and I agree with a number of his points about the game, I … Continue reading A Second Take: Tomb Raider

Mass Effect: Citadel DLC – Third Time’s a Charm

March 10, 2013 Shaun

Well, Mass Effect fans, it’s been a fun, crazy journey, but we’ve finally received the closure we’ve wanted from the series. The final piece of DLC content, Citadel, has released, and in many ways is the epilogue to this fantastic … Continue reading Mass Effect: Citadel DLC – Third Time’s a Charm

Review from a Gaming Expert: Tomb Raider

March 8, 2013March 11, 2013 Shaun

A New Tomb Raider Tomb Raider was, by a large margin, the game I was most looking forward to this year. So, of course, I expected the series reboot to be terrible. That’s just how it works with me; if … Continue reading Review from a Gaming Expert: Tomb Raider

Coheed and Cambria: Return to Form with The Afterman

March 7, 2013 Shaun

Coheed and Cambria has always been one of my favorite bands. I dig the prog-rock, love their sound, and actually have become pretty invested in their wildly imaginative and indisputably epic science fiction saga covered in their lyrics. No World … Continue reading Coheed and Cambria: Return to Form with The Afterman

Gray Areas

Gray Areas is a pop culture extravaganza with a live weekly podcast every Thursday night, daily Let's Play videos, and a bevy of old blog posts for your enjoyment.

The current crew includes Chris, Dave and Shaun, who have been there since the beginning, and Cody, who joined in 2021. We also have other contributors like Michaela who chip in from time to time.

We cover everything from video games, anime and movies to music, books and idiots in the news.

This whole thing was started as At the Buzzer in February 2011, the brainchild of three men desperate for attention. It became Objection Network in 2017 and then this in 2024. It’s slightly related to an old Flagstaff radio show from 2008, kinda like how Frasier was slightly related to Cheers. In other words, we're all getting old and it's a little depressing.
