The ATB guys have golf, I have Bowling

January 7, 2014January 7, 2014 Nick

I’m looking forward to tonight. A lot. My wife got me a wonderful gift for Christmas – something that I knew I wanted but it being an expensive item and being so low on the totem pole, it probably would … Continue reading The ATB guys have golf, I have Bowling

Hello 2014

January 3, 2014January 3, 2014 Nick

Happy new year to all! I’ve been a bad contributor for a very long time now – perhaps 2 or 3 posts since getting married in March – but I think it is time to turn over a new leaf. … Continue reading Hello 2014

December 31, 2013December 31, 2013 Gray Areas

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog. Here’s an excerpt: The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 230,000 times in 2013. If it were an exhibit at … Continue reading 2013 in Review: A Look at ATB’s Stats

Christmas Review: Mixing Bowl and Lumps of Coal

December 28, 2013January 20, 2014 Chris

Another Christmas has gone by the wayside, which is a little hard to believe. Part of that is because this was the shortest possible time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I think the bigger culprit is that I’m getting old. … Continue reading Christmas Review: Mixing Bowl and Lumps of Coal

Adventures with CenturyLink: Nonexistent Existing Internet

December 23, 2013January 23, 2014 Chris

This is part 2 of our ongoing saga with CenturyLink. That’s right, something this sad has happened before. This is a story of payback and redemption. Wait. This is a story of the absence of payback, and the absence of … Continue reading Adventures with CenturyLink: Nonexistent Existing Internet

Mini-Review: Grand Theft Auto V

December 6, 2013January 21, 2014 Chris

Grand Theft Auto V isn’t a bad game. Hell, I’d go so far as to call it good. I just don’t see what makes it the best game of our generation or anything of the sort. GTA V expands on … Continue reading Mini-Review: Grand Theft Auto V

Persona 5 Announced; Chair as Main Character?

November 28, 2013December 28, 2013 Chris

After what seemed like forever for an announcement, a short teaser trailer for Persona 5 dropped last week — and the game might be releasing sooner than anyone would have expected. We went from virtually no news about the Persona … Continue reading Persona 5 Announced; Chair as Main Character?

The PS4 Conundrum: To Buy or Not To Buy

November 19, 2013December 23, 2013 Chris

The Playstation 4 came out a few days ago. I stared at one longingly in our local Gamestop. But I didn’t pull the trigger to become one of the early adopters (you know, before they ran out of units at … Continue reading The PS4 Conundrum: To Buy or Not To Buy

Link Between Worlds: 21 Years in the Making

November 13, 2013December 12, 2013 Chris

A sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past comes out in about a week, and I’m having a hard time getting excited about it. A Link Between Worlds is set to hit the streets on Nov. … Continue reading Link Between Worlds: 21 Years in the Making

You Don’t Know Jack Classics on Steam

November 8, 2013December 6, 2013 Chris

If you’ve been following our Game On series (and you should, because these episodes have been pretty darn good), you may have been introduced to the madness that is You Don’t Know Jack. YDKJ was a series that started back … Continue reading You Don’t Know Jack Classics on Steam

Gray Areas

Gray Areas is a pop culture extravaganza with a live weekly podcast every Thursday night, daily Let's Play videos, and a bevy of old blog posts for your enjoyment.

The current crew includes Chris, Dave and Shaun, who have been there since the beginning, and Cody, who joined in 2021. We also have other contributors like Michaela who chip in from time to time.

We cover everything from video games, anime and movies to music, books and idiots in the news.

This whole thing was started as At the Buzzer in February 2011, the brainchild of three men desperate for attention. It became Objection Network in 2017 and then this in 2024. It’s slightly related to an old Flagstaff radio show from 2008, kinda like how Frasier was slightly related to Cheers. In other words, we're all getting old and it's a little depressing.
