Legend of Korra Weekly Review – Civil Wars, Pt. 1

September 22, 2013September 25, 2013 Jason

Hey everyone! This week’s Legend of Korra was perhaps the slowest we’ve ever seen the show, but also possibly it’s best. September 18, 2013September 23, 2013 David

This past weekend I decided to go out to a couple of bars and restaurants to watch some football. It’s an activity that millions of Americans take part in, and it’s a great way to socialize. However, after ordering a … Continue reading Why do we tip in restaurants?

September 16, 2013September 22, 2013 Chris

Grand Theft Auto V releases at midnight tonight, and I still have a decision on my hands. Should I pick up a copy, or just wait a bit to rent it? I’m a fan of the GTA series, but IV … Continue reading Rent or Buy: The Grand Theft Auto V Conundrum

Where Have All the Beat-Em-Ups Gone?

September 9, 2013September 15, 2013 Chris

I was watching some video of Final Fight 3 the other day, and it reminded me of a beef I have with the video game industry. What happened to the classic beat-em-up (or brawler) genre? My love of brawlers probably … Continue reading Where Have All the Beat-Em-Ups Gone?

September 4, 2013September 8, 2013 David

There’s been a lot of debate over the years about mobile gaming and whether it should count as part of the genre that so many people follow. Should we look at a game that is designed to be played for … Continue reading Is “The Simpsons: Tapped Out” Worth my Time?

Review: Saints Row IV

September 3, 2013September 6, 2013 Chris

Fair or not, the Saints Row series is inexorably linked with Grand Theft Auto. At its beginning, Saints Row was a slightly less serious version of GTA. The critically acclaimed sequel seemed like the perfect mix of both worlds with … Continue reading Review: Saints Row IV

Review from a Sports Gamer: NCAA Football 2014

August 28, 2013September 2, 2013 David

Sports games are a strange genre. They are often dismissed by hardcore gamers as something not worth time and effort due to the annual releases and the lack of innovation that comes year over year. Many times their complaints are … Continue reading Review from a Sports Gamer: NCAA Football 2014

Gray Areas

Gray Areas is a pop culture extravaganza with a live weekly podcast every Thursday night, daily Let's Play videos, and a bevy of old blog posts for your enjoyment.

The current crew includes Chris, Dave and Shaun, who have been there since the beginning, and Cody, who joined in 2021. We also have other contributors like Michaela who chip in from time to time.

We cover everything from video games, anime and movies to music, books and idiots in the news.

This whole thing was started as At the Buzzer in February 2011, the brainchild of three men desperate for attention. It became Objection Network in 2017 and then this in 2024. It’s slightly related to an old Flagstaff radio show from 2008, kinda like how Frasier was slightly related to Cheers. In other words, we're all getting old and it's a little depressing.
