Gunnerkrigg Court: A Damn Fine Good Read!

Hey everyone! This week we’ll be looking at something a little different then usual. A web-comic! Yes I know I’ve done comic reviews and that’s kinda the same thing; but seeing as how it can be a month between issues in a typical comic and yet a web-comic gets updated three times a week… the pacing can be quite different. Anyway!

I’ve spent my fair share of time cruising around the internet reading all kinda of web-comics. Some are good, some are bad, and a select few fall into that magical area of “Damn Good Reads”. You know, the kind of thing that’s better than half the stuff Marvel or DC put out every month. The kind of thing that you not only bookmark and return to every week, but you’d actually consider owning a hardcover copy of.

Now you may be wondering what web-comic could actually be that good. Well I’ll tell you…  Continue reading “Gunnerkrigg Court: A Damn Fine Good Read!”

Mewtwo is the Best Pokemon

Mewtwo is the best pokemon

Don’t listen to that heretic Shaun, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. In fact, he wouldn’t know a Clefairy from a Wigglytuff. He’s that clueless; and we ain’t talking about a movie with a hot blonde.

Metagross is not, in fact, the best Pokemon ever. Metagross isn’t even on the list of semi-best Pokemon ever; ugliest, maybe, but not best. That makes Shaun not only wrong, but a big fat liar. Fact: Metagross can’t fly. Don’t be fooled by Shaun’s honeyed words, there is only one, true, best Pokemon, and his name starts with a Mew and ends with a Two. That’s right, we talk’n bout Mewtwo here people… the most badass Pokemon of them all. Disagree? Well too bad, cause you’re wrong. Continue reading “Mewtwo is the Best Pokemon”

Spider-men #3 Review

Hey everyone! Sorry about falling off the Earth last week, I’ve been chipping away at The Secret World as best I can and lost track of time. Such is life.

Anyway! This week I’ll be reviewing Spider-men #3, and let me say that this week things get interesting! If you happened to wander into this blog having not read my review of issues #1 and #2, be sure to check them out. With last issue leaving us hanging on the edge of our seat wondering what was going to happen in a battle between Mysterio and both Spider-men, this issue doesn’t let us down as it jumps right into the action. Plus! Bendis finally starts bringing things home as the story moves towards the emotionally charged tale I was hoping it would become…

Spider-men #2 Review

Spider-men Issue 2 Review

Well folks, I’m a bit behind on things but figured I should probably start somewhere. Seeing as Spider-men #3 is already out I figured I’d probably get my review for number 2 up and running before I fall way behind. That said, this story arc is still shaping up to be one of the biggest things to happen in either Peter Parker or Miles Morales life! Although things in this issue don’t really hit any of those huge emotional moments that I’m sure a lot of readers like me are hoping for, this was still an important issue for helping brings Peter Parker (and readers) into the fold of the Ultimate Universe.

Oh! And if you missed my review of issue number 1, you’re in luck! It’s right here waiting to be read… Continue reading “Spider-men #2 Review”

The Secret World: Characters with character

The world behind The Secret World

Hey everyone! In my typical fashion I have been doing everything in my power to play the living ba-Jesus out of The Secret World, as that is what I typically do when I get a new game, burn through it. But with Funcom’s new MMO, I’m presented with a bit of a dilemma – the game is too open, expansive, and deep for me to want to burn through it. So while I normally try to cruise through an MMO’s story missions at the quickest rate I can in order to see and hear what’s really going on in the world, I can’t help but feel I’d be missing out if I did so.

What is it about The Secret World that is holding me back? Surely other games have tempted me as well right? Well, yes. But the modern world that Funcom has created for their new games is not only full of hidden secrets, awesomely creepy monsters and tons of hidden goodies to find; it’s also filled with real, true blue, characters. Something few games have ever had. Continue reading “The Secret World: Characters with character”

When Worlds Collide! Spider-men #1 Review

Hey everyone! Although I haven’t mention it much here on the site, those who know me personally would know that I’m a pretty big comic fan, particularly when it comes to the Ultimate Marvel universe. So color my surprised when I found out that, in perhaps one of the coolest cross-over events I’ve ever read, the Spider-mans from both the Regular Universe (Peter Parker) and the Ultimate Universe (Miles Morales) are finally going to meet and team up. Why is that important? Why should you care? Well, I’ll tell you, because this event has to potential to be one of the best reads in comic books this year… Continue reading “When Worlds Collide! My Monthly Korra Review for May

The Legend of Korra episodes review (with pictures!)

Hey everyone! I know this is a little bit late, but now that we have regular working internet again I can finally use my computer to make these reviews. Why is it important that I use my computer to post? Well because I don’t really feel like downloading HD version of Korra onto someone else’s computer. And without such easy access to the show I can’t make such awesome screenshots to insert willy-nilly into my review. And in case you haven’t noticed, I like my pictures. Anyway…

If you missed out on last months review, be sure to check it out here. And obviously, since these are reviews, there are going to be spoilers ahead. Of course since I’m sure you’ve been following the show religiously (seeing as you have every reason too) I’m sure that won’t be a problem. That being said, let us begin!
