Tales of Xillia 2! Tales of Hearts R! Excitement!

April 23, 2014May 1, 2014 Chris

This week has been very good for Tales fans (like me!). Apparently Namco Bandai decided that it was time to go nuts with announcements all at once. First, Tales of Xillia 2 finally received a release date — August 19th … Continue reading Tales of Xillia 2! Tales of Hearts R! Excitement!

Music to My Ears: Fury Sparks

April 15, 2014April 23, 2014 Chris

This week, Music to My Ears is looking back on a great game that could have been even better. Tales of Vesperia was one of the better entries in the Tales series. To me, a lot of that comes from … Continue reading Music to My Ears: Fury Sparks

My Wishlist for Golden Sun 4

March 21, 2014March 21, 2014 Michaela

Quite frankly, it irks me that a fourth installment is not being developed for the Golden Sun series. They’re some of my favorite games to play, and the lack of attention the series gets kills me. I don’t care if … Continue reading My Wishlist for Golden Sun 4

Music to My Ears: Serpent Eating the Ground

February 11, 2014February 19, 2014 Chris

Music to My Ears is looking ahead this week. Bravely Default’s only been out a few days now, but it’s worth featuring right now. “Serpent Eating the Ground” is the final boss theme. I don’t know who the final boss … Continue reading Music to My Ears: Serpent Eating the Ground

Persona 5 Announced; Chair as Main Character?

November 28, 2013December 28, 2013 Chris

After what seemed like forever for an announcement, a short teaser trailer for Persona 5 dropped last week — and the game might be releasing sooner than anyone would have expected. We went from virtually no news about the Persona … Continue reading Persona 5 Announced; Chair as Main Character?

Tales of Xillia: August 6

Word seems to have trickled out over the weekend that Tales of Xillia finally has a North American release date: August 6th. Considering that Xillia’s release has been listed as “summer” for the better part of eight months now, this … Continue reading Tales of Xillia: August 6

Tales of Xillia Localization: Hallelujah

July 6, 2012July 6, 2012 Chris

Well, needless to say I’m excited: Tales of Xillia is coming to North America in 2013. This is pretty big news considering how things had been going for the series up until the release of Graces f. Remember, it had … Continue reading Tales of Xillia Localization: Hallelujah

Gray Areas

Gray Areas is a pop culture extravaganza with a live weekly podcast every Thursday night, daily Let's Play videos, and a bevy of old blog posts for your enjoyment.

The current crew includes Chris, Dave and Shaun, who have been there since the beginning, and Cody, who joined in 2021. We also have other contributors like Michaela who chip in from time to time.

We cover everything from video games, anime and movies to music, books and idiots in the news.

This whole thing was started as At the Buzzer in February 2011, the brainchild of three men desperate for attention. It became Objection Network in 2017 and then this in 2024. It’s slightly related to an old Flagstaff radio show from 2008, kinda like how Frasier was slightly related to Cheers. In other words, we're all getting old and it's a little depressing.
