Scoring the Best and Worst Anime I’ve Seen Round 5

January 3, 2015March 4, 2017 Michaela

As always, these scores are based on my experiences watching the show and whether or not I would recommend them to fellow anime fans. Psycho-Pass (Season 1): 9/10 Psycho-Pass shines through its unique setting, fascinating premise and story. The characters … Continue reading Scoring the Best and Worst Anime I’ve Seen Round 5

Over The Garden Wall Review

December 19, 2014May 25, 2016 Michaela

I don’t usually write long reviews for the shows I watch, because typically I can get out my opinions in about a paragraph and move on. But for shows like Over The Garden Wall, it demands all of my attention … Continue reading Over The Garden Wall Review

Attack on Titan: No Regrets Review

June 20, 2014March 4, 2017 Michaela

Attack on Titan’s explosive popularity has led to various spin-off series being published. From comedies to prequels, they all sounded like they’d be interesting, entertaining reads, but the one that piqued my interest the most was the spin-off titled No … Continue reading Attack on Titan: No Regrets Review

Guest Appearance on the Whitemaze Podcast

May 30, 2014June 11, 2014 Gray Areas

We spent some time on Tuesday night doing an interview with the folks over at Whitemaze Podcast. What followed was an hourlong discussion about Doctor Who pictures, Mountain Dew Baja Blast and peanut butter on inappropriate areas. The episode, #10, … Continue reading Guest Appearance on the Whitemaze Podcast

My Top 3 Favorite Chapters of Attack on Titan

April 18, 2014April 27, 2014 Michaela

I used to be that person who didn’t like manga. Preferring the colors and movement of the anime adaptations rather than the black and white drawings that were difficult to decipher, I could never see myself getting into a manga … Continue reading My Top 3 Favorite Chapters of Attack on Titan

Don’t call it a comeback; we been here for years. Our internet situation has finally, FINALLY, FINALLY… Okay, you get the idea. It’s been resolved, after almost three months of stress and frustration and tomfoolery and shenanigans. And for those … Continue reading The Return of At the Buzzer

Reviews: Scoring The Best And Worst Anime I’ve Seen Round 2

January 8, 2014June 24, 2017 Michaela

Since the Internet has been nonexistent for the past few months, it’s been a slow process to watch more anime shows and score them. As a result, this list is going to be a lot shorter than the last, but … Continue reading Reviews: Scoring The Best And Worst Anime I’ve Seen Round 2

Lightning Strikes — No Show This Week

August 20, 2013August 25, 2013 Chris

This past weekend in Flagstaff, there was the loudest thunder I’ve ever heard in my life. That’s not an exaggeration. I’ve been through my share of monsoon storms in Phoenix, Flagstaff and Colorado, and there have been some doozies, including … Continue reading Lightning Strikes — No Show This Week

Pokemon: The Origin announced, starring Red

August 17, 2013August 17, 2013 Chris

It may not be a permanent replacement for that poor bastard Ash Ketchum, but a standalone anime featuring the characters of Pokemon Red and Green (Blue in the U.S.) is set to be released just before X and Y drop … Continue reading Pokemon: The Origin announced, starring Red

Gray Areas

Gray Areas is a pop culture extravaganza with a live weekly podcast every Thursday night, daily Let's Play videos, and a bevy of old blog posts for your enjoyment.

The current crew includes Chris, Dave and Shaun, who have been there since the beginning, and Cody, who joined in 2021. We also have other contributors like Michaela who chip in from time to time.

We cover everything from video games, anime and movies to music, books and idiots in the news.

This whole thing was started as At the Buzzer in February 2011, the brainchild of three men desperate for attention. It became Objection Network in 2017 and then this in 2024. It’s slightly related to an old Flagstaff radio show from 2008, kinda like how Frasier was slightly related to Cheers. In other words, we're all getting old and it's a little depressing.
