Attack on Titan: No Regrets Review

June 20, 2014March 4, 2017 Michaela

Attack on Titan’s explosive popularity has led to various spin-off series being published. From comedies to prequels, they all sounded like they’d be interesting, entertaining reads, but the one that piqued my interest the most was the spin-off titled No … Continue reading Attack on Titan: No Regrets Review

Sci-Fi Hate, and Steins;Gate

June 7, 2014January 20, 2015 Michaela

I’ve never been a huge fan of sci-fi. I know a lot of people who simply love it, but I’m not one of those people. With a few exceptions, the genre as a whole bores me to tears. It feels … Continue reading Sci-Fi Hate, and Steins;Gate

Anime Movie Reviews

May 16, 2014March 4, 2017 Michaela

Now that I’m on summer break, I finally have more time to watch anime movies. This list is the result of watching the movies with friends or at the NAU Anime Club in the last year and a half, so … Continue reading Anime Movie Reviews

Review: Steins;Gate and the Importance of Consistency

May 16, 2014March 6, 2017 Chris

The beauty of Steins;Gate is in the details. If you’re the type of person who wants elaborate fight scenes or giant mechs in their anime, your first instinct will be to steer clear. But if you do, you’ll be missing … Continue reading Review: Steins;Gate and the Importance of Consistency

Scoring the Best and Worst Anime I’ve Seen Round 3

May 2, 2014March 4, 2017 Michaela

Just as before, here’s a list of what I’ve been able to watch as of late, and the scores based on my experience with each show and whether or not I would recommend them. Code Geass (R1): 5/10 The dynamic … Continue reading Scoring the Best and Worst Anime I’ve Seen Round 3

My Top 3 Favorite Chapters of Attack on Titan

April 18, 2014April 27, 2014 Michaela

I used to be that person who didn’t like manga. Preferring the colors and movement of the anime adaptations rather than the black and white drawings that were difficult to decipher, I could never see myself getting into a manga … Continue reading My Top 3 Favorite Chapters of Attack on Titan

First Image of the new Flash – Grant Gustin as Flash in Justice League Movie

February 28, 2014February 28, 2014 Shaun

I did this already with Stephen Amell and Green Arrow, but I’d like to make a case for Grant Gustin, the new TV Flash, as being the Flash in the Justice League movie. We’ve already established that DC’s television properties, … Continue reading First Image of the new Flash – Grant Gustin as Flash in Justice League Movie

Gamer Girl Musings: Attack on Titan, Bravely Default, and More

February 26, 2014April 6, 2014 Michaela

FUNimation has announced that they will reveal the English cast for Attack on Titan in March. Fortunately, FUNimation generally has a good reputation when it comes to making high-quality English dubs, so while I’m confident that they selected good voices … Continue reading Gamer Girl Musings: Attack on Titan, Bravely Default, and More

Whose Line Taping: The Ups and Downs (But Mostly Ups)

February 3, 2014July 7, 2015 Chris

Last weekend, we headed over to California to get away for a weekend. Part of the experience was heading over to Hollywood to see a taping of the improv comedy show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” I remember watching episodes … Continue reading Whose Line Taping: The Ups and Downs (But Mostly Ups)

Reviews: Scoring The Best And Worst Anime I’ve Seen Round 2

January 8, 2014June 24, 2017 Michaela

Since the Internet has been nonexistent for the past few months, it’s been a slow process to watch more anime shows and score them. As a result, this list is going to be a lot shorter than the last, but … Continue reading Reviews: Scoring The Best And Worst Anime I’ve Seen Round 2

Gray Areas

Gray Areas is a pop culture extravaganza with a live weekly podcast every Thursday night, daily Let's Play videos, and a bevy of old blog posts for your enjoyment.

The current crew includes Chris, Dave and Shaun, who have been there since the beginning, and Cody, who joined in 2021. We also have other contributors like Michaela who chip in from time to time.

We cover everything from video games, anime and movies to music, books and idiots in the news.

This whole thing was started as At the Buzzer in February 2011, the brainchild of three men desperate for attention. It became Objection Network in 2017 and then this in 2024. It’s slightly related to an old Flagstaff radio show from 2008, kinda like how Frasier was slightly related to Cheers. In other words, we're all getting old and it's a little depressing.
