Lately I have been playing more mobile games when I’m waiting for classes to start, and I never thought I’d really enjoy them as much as I do. It’s nice to be able to play them casually and not need … Continue reading Video Game Minireviews (Mobile Phone Edition)

Good Video Game Couples – Noctis and Luna

January 21, 2017March 7, 2017 Michaela

I’m a sucker for romance in stories, but I’ve found that over the years, I have pretty high expectations for what a good couple should look like. I’ve talked a lot about anime couples that I think fit the mold … Continue reading Good Video Game Couples – Noctis and Luna

Chrono Trigger Review: A Nostalgic Epic

October 1, 2016January 20, 2018 Michaela

The risk of playing an older game that’s widely adored by its fans (cough cough Final Fantasy VII cough cough) is that sometimes it can give newcomers unrealistic expectations. The game is expected to be amazing because of the nostalgia … Continue reading Chrono Trigger Review: A Nostalgic Epic

If you’ve kept up with my writing, then you’re probably aware of Final Fantasy IX’s status as my favorite game of all time. I’ve played the Playstation classic twice now, but with my game’s third disc on the fritz, my … Continue reading Final Fantasy IX Android Review

August 7, 2016October 20, 2017 Michaela

I’d like to tell you that this long hiatus was devoted to exposing myself to new video games and anime nonstop to the point that I had no time for anything else, but it was really due to needing to … Continue reading Video Game Minireviews Round 2

How Metal Gear Solid 2 Made Me Love The Series

December 18, 2015October 20, 2017 Michaela

I’m not a fan of the shooter genre. My preferences in video games are pretty limited, and I stick largely with RPG’s and platformers or puzzle games, with unconventional fighting games like Super Smash Bros. sprinkled in the mix. I … Continue reading How Metal Gear Solid 2 Made Me Love The Series

Gray Areas

Gray Areas is a pop culture extravaganza with a live weekly podcast every Thursday night, daily Let's Play videos, and a bevy of old blog posts for your enjoyment.

The current crew includes Chris, Dave and Shaun, who have been there since the beginning, and Cody, who joined in 2021. We also have other contributors like Michaela who chip in from time to time.

We cover everything from video games, anime and movies to music, books and idiots in the news.

This whole thing was started as At the Buzzer in February 2011, the brainchild of three men desperate for attention. It became Objection Network in 2017 and then this in 2024. It’s slightly related to an old Flagstaff radio show from 2008, kinda like how Frasier was slightly related to Cheers. In other words, we're all getting old and it's a little depressing.
